A lovely R50 from the first year of production. Triple matching numbers and Bing carburetors correctly numbered in sequence.
Previous long term owner for 25+ years. The BMW has clearly been restored in the past, the engine was rebuild and is clean and good order throughout. Mechanically in very good condition. The BMW R50 starts first or second kick and goes into instant idle. All gears engage easily up and down
Cosmetically, the BMW presents lovely. Paint work is in good condition. There is one irregular spot in the paint on the right hand side of the headlight. This could be repainted to match the quality of the rest of the bike or left, as it is not very apparent. There is also a very small soft dent, approximately 4-5mm, near the left hand side emblem on the petrol tank. Again, not very noticeable, but it should be mentioned.
Chrome work is generally good, the exhaust pipes and silencers are very clean and bright. The chrome on the rims looks to be the original, and as such have some light surface rust and pitting. A good polish of the rims will certainly help but will not remove it entirely.
All in all, this is a beautiful, older restoration BMW R50 from the first year of production that has mellowed in lovely.
